As I sit with my laptop writing this week’s article, I think about the busy week ahead of me. Jimmy is competing in Ironman Wisconsin this Sunday. Our week is filled with lots of preparation, in addition to the short holiday week bursting with client deadlines and meetings.
As you could expect, I am mentally organizing, stuffing the nooks and crannies with as much as possible, capitalizing on the time I do have.
I pause to collect my thoughts, looking out the window. Just above the neighboring house, a beautiful hot air balloon is effortlessly drifting through the sky. I open the window and hear the familiar fire of the burner that cuts through the morning silence.
What a beautiful sight. And it only took looking up.
With days filled with work schedules, family schedules and now back-to-school schedules, are you looking up? What is going on around you that you’re missing?
Stop right now, sit back from your monitor. Breathe deeply, close your eyes. Then, open them. See what’s around you. Share with me.
